Responsibilities:

The Purchasing Director will lead all sourcing and procurement activities for direct materials and capital investments, supporting new product launches and ongoing production:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key commodities: injection-molded plastics, rubber gaskets, die castings, wire harnesses, and connectors
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation of contracts, and management of long-term agreements
• Drive cost reduction initiatives, VA/VE workshops, and supplier cost breakdown analysis
• Manage procurement of tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment
• Support cross-functional teams during APQP and product launch phases
• Oversee FAT/SAT and technical acceptance of capital equipment
• Use ERP/MRP systems to manage POs, delivery schedules, and inventory alignment
• Identify and implement supplier localization and dual-source strategies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business (MBA a plus)
• 7+ years of purchasing experience in the automotive industry
• Proven background in sourcing injection-molded plastics, die castings, gaskets, and capital tooling/equipment
• Global sourcing experience across North America and Asia (Spanish or Chinese fluency a plus)
