PT - Director of Unmanned Aerial Systems (Grant-funded) Salary: $ per hour Summary of Function: Grant-funded. Leads and supports Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) program activities. They will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and technical expertise to manage unmanned aerial operations, compliance, and program development. Typical Duties: Serves Students. Oversee the Unmanned Aerial Systems program requirements for all locations. Plans and organizes events and activities, both on campus and within the community, aimed at recruiting students to expand the program. Oversees accurate and clear scheduling of courses and instructors, provides support to part-time instructors, and manages the inventory of equipment and supplies. Manages student and program records in compliance with FERPA and other relevant guidelines. Responds to inquiries, addressing topics ranging from routine to complex, related to the Unmanned Aerial Systems program. Collaborates with the Executive Director & Dean of Career and Technical Education to develop policies and procedures for maintaining program sites and activities. Demonstrates professional ethics and inclusivity, serving as a role model for students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. Contributes to and engages in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree AND Unmanned Aerial Systems with appropriate Endorsements AND two years of experience working in Unmanned Aerial Systems OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND Unmanned Aerial Systems with appropriate Endorsements AND three years of experience working in Unmanned Aerial Systems Additional Eligibility Requirements: Valid Certification in Unmanned Aerial Systems Classification: Non-Exempt Position Type & Work Schedule: Part-time Up to 19 hours per week Work flexible schedule to meet the program, department, and/or institutional needs, which may include Fridays, nights, and/or weekends Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to interpret, apply, and follow college policies and procedures Knowledge of or ability to maintain organizational structure, workflow and operating procedures Skill in current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications, Windows Skill and ability to be self-directed and to manage one’s own time Ability to complete all departmental and/or institutional mandatory training or development Ability to organize, work independently, prioritize, follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion, with close attention to detail Ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment Ability to provide assistance for diverse populations in a professional and supportive manner Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, in writing, and in a public setting, and to relate to others in a professional manner Ability to conduct successful meeting work Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to demonstrate excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working and collaborative relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, students, and the public Work Environment: Inside office environment with normal noise and lighting levels.
