What You Will Do The LANL Global Security Directorate is seeking applicants for the Deputy Program Director of its Intelligence and Emerging Threats (GS-IET) program office. In partnership with the GS-IET Program Director, the GS-IET Deputy Program Director (Project-Program Director 5) will support the managing of office staff including Program Managers and Administrative Staff as assigned. The Deputy Program Director helps ensure the content and quality of national security solutions delivered to enduring Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (DOE/IN) programs. Additionally, the Deputy Program Director supports management of a diverse portfolio of programs that directly address the needs of Intelligence Community through the Strategic Intelligence Partnership Program (SIPP). The Deputy Program Director ensures alignment of those activities with LANL's organizations mission and vision objectives that include capability sustainment and growth, value-added relations with the weapons program, and sustaining and growing our Intelligence Community (IC) relationships. This position requires working knowledge of relevant DOE, NNSA, and IC agencies.Duties include but are not limited to: Coordinating and/or participating in LANL interactions with sponsors, partners, and tri-lab representatives within the Intelligence Community Maintaining detailed situational awareness of the status of execution of work (technical, budget, timeframe, etc.) at LANL in all of GS-IET program areas Teaming with line managers to identify and develop institutional capabilities to meet core missions of LANL by informing line organizations of future needs in GS-IET program areas Collaborating with the other GS Program Offices [National Security and Defense (GS-NSD), Nuclear Counterterrorism & Counterproliferation (GS-NCCP), and Nuclear Nonproliferation & Security (GS-NNS)] in sponsor interaction and strategic direction What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements: Program Management Demonstrated experience in program management, advocacy, strategic planning, resource planning and allocation in relation to Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense programs. Experience managing and leading sensitive projects, facilities, and data systems with multi-level security requirements. Technical Experience Experience in managing complex technical projects, presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences, and writing reports. Intelligence Community Experience Experience or knowledge in areas such as intelligence collection, intelligence analysis, and counterintelligence. Familiarity with the organization of the U.S. Intelligence Community and extensive experience working with one or more of its elemental agencies. Professional Leadership Demonstrated ability to build and grow both internal and external organizational relationships. Experience in workforce planning that has included recruitment, retention, and mentoring staff. Communication Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as evidenced by application materials, letters of reference, and by seminars, briefings, and presentations. Partnership Building Demonstrated experience in developing and nurturing effective executive-level external and internal customer relationships. Experience interfacing with NNSA, IC, LANL, or DoD Senior Officials. Problem Solving Demonstrated experience in effective decision making and creative problem solving. Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 12 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. An advanced degree in a STEM field and formal project management experience is preferred. Desired Qualifications Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing program growth strategies resulting in sustained program capture Demonstrated experience executing projects with large multi-disciplinary teams Experience working in Washington, DC Active Q/SCI clearance Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management. Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
