Overview of the role
The PMO Director is responsible for establishing, leading, and managing the Project Management Office (PMO) at The Wonderfield Group. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our growing portfolio of projects is executed effectively, delivering measurable value and aligning with our strategic objectives. The PMO Director will develop and implement robust governance frameworks, standardise project management processes, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities
- 1. Align the PMO strategy with the organisation’s overall goals and growth strategy. Leading the prioritisation process with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), ensuring projects are re-prioritised when business needs evolve.
- 2. Oversee integrated planning across Divisions and Group, identifying dependencies and impacts.
- 3. Oversee the recruitment, development, and management of the PMO team.
- 4. Implement standardised project management frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI’s PMBOK, Agile) and tools.
- 5. Develop and enforce project governance standards to ensure consistent project delivery.
- 6. Establish processes for continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects.
- 7. Monitor project budgets, costs, and overall financial performance.
- 8. Lead initiatives to build internal project management capabilities through targeted training and mentorship programmes.
- 9. Manage organisational change initiatives to support successful project outcomes.
- 10. Champion the adoption of project management best practices across the business.
Key measures of success
- 1. Establish the PMO, including defining its structure, processes, and methodologies
- 2. Develop and communicate the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the PMO
- 3. Create and maintain an enterprise-wide programme and project roadmap.
- 4. Monitor and report on the performance of the project portfolio, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and project risks.
What you’ll need
- 1. Experience in establishing and enforcing project governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- 2. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- 3. Strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across multiple projects and programmes.
- 4. Demonstrated expertise in project management, with proven experience in translating organisational goals into actionable project strategies and influencing senior stakeholders in a global, multinational setting.
- 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 6. Proficiency in analysing complex data to drive informed decision-making and improve project performance.
- 7. Strong stakeholder management, leading cross-functional change, influencing stakeholders, and ensuring adoption of new processes.
- 8. Strong commercial acumen to manage supplier relationships and procurement processes.
- 9. Experience in managing budgets, forecasting costs, and ensuring financial accountability in project execution.
- 10. Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira) and data visualisation (e.g., Power BI).
