1. Education: Master’s level therapist with knowledge of substance use disorders required; training/experience with substance use disorders preferred; Licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor (LADAC) or other substance abuse credentials/certification desired.

2. Training and Experience: Two to five years of clinical experience with expertise in clinical area. Demonstrated leadership abilities and good communication skills. Certification in specialty desirable. If in recovery, prefer five years post-recovery/sobriety from drug and alcohol addiction, minimum of 2 years.

3. Job Knowledge: Ability to provide leadership to entire team to establish processes for providing care/services that meets the mission, vision, and values of the SUD specialty unit. Ability to work independently as well as a team member with other support staff, executive staff, and physicians to accomplish the needs of each unit.

4. Safety Sensitive: YES

DESCRIPTION:

The Program Director is responsible for the maintenance of the overall operation of the SUD Programs and Units. Included in these responsibilities are.

  • The development and maintenance of a high-quality treatment program
  • The development and operationalization of the Interdisciplinary Team concept
  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive community education plan and referral activities.
  • Program strategic planning and development
  • Overall fiscal responsibility
  • Monitor program performance improvement, quality, outcomes, and satisfaction.
  • Provide clinical services and carry a clinical caseload to support the treatment team as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Maintains good physical and emotional well-being. Job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work. The individual will be required to assist with lifting and moving patients, pushing of carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; and lifting or pushing of up to 50 pounds. The individual must

also be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills. A significant amount of writing and computer entry is required. Requires availability all shifts.
