Position: Program Director for a new Internal Medicine GME program

Location: Lakewood Ranch, Florida

Salary: Highly Competitive

Graduate Medical Education is expanding in Florida with a new Internal Medicine residency at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. We seek an experienced leader to oversee the program, including the 2025 ACGME application process for a 2026 start.

This is an excellent opportunity to establish a new GME program on Florida’s West Coast and impact the community by training new physicians, aligning with our mission of delivering high-quality care and positive patient outcomes. The role includes direct patient care, leadership, teaching, and administrative duties.

Opportunity Highlights

Leading the new Internal Medicine GME program

Initially a consulting role transitioning to .6 FTE as Program Director, with remaining time in clinical practice

Position Requirements

Current ABIM/AOBIM board certification and specialty expertise

Recent experience as Program Director or Associate Program Director (preferred)

At least 3 years of documented educational and/or administrative experience in an accredited GME program

Proven leadership, educational, and clinical skills

Recent scholarly activities or research

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities
