Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr Our Client is looking for an experienced Director of Production to lead our end-to-end production process with a strong focus on cut & sew garment manufacturing. This senior role will be a key partner to the founders, shaping production processes, driving efficiencies, and delivering timely, high-quality products to market. What You'll Do Oversee the entire apparel production cycle, from pre-production to final delivery, with a strong focus on cut & sew construction, garment development, and printing techniques Manage relationships and communication with vendors, factories, and fabric mills Provide regular production reports, updates, and performance insights to the founders and leadership team, including timelines, cost tracking, and vendor performance Develop, implement, and refine production processes to ensure operational efficiency, quality, and scalability Collaborate with Design to translate concepts into finished goods, managing commercial requirements and organizing product information for vendors, including Technical Packages and Bills of Materials. Monitor and enforce quality standards throughout all stages of production, from sampling through bulk Troubleshoot production issues in real time, maintaining flexibility while protecting timelines and quality Negotiate costs, minimums, and lead times with suppliers, maintaining margin targets and brand standards Maintain accurate documentation of purchase orders, WIPs, inventory tracking, and vendor performance Continuously monitor the supply chain to improve efficiencies and cost savings, while sourcing new factories and materials Who You Are 7+ years of apparel production experience Based in NYC or willing to work onsite Proven ability to manage multiple product lines and production timelines simultaneously Strong understanding of garment construction, technical specs, and fit processes Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Experience working directly with factories Proficiency skills in Excel, Google Docs, Canva, Adobe Must be willing to travel internationally Seniority level Seniority level Director Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Production, Administrative, and Sales Industries Retail Apparel and Fashion and Apparel Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Confidential by 2x Get notified about new Production Director jobs in New York City Metropolitan Area .
