Production, Control & Logistics Director

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive PC&L (Planning, Control, and Logistics) Director to lead our client's logistics and inventory management efforts in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, extensive lean manufacturing experience, and a proven track record of leading teams. This role will report directly to the Head of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team in the areas of production planning, inventory management, and logistics optimization.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve operational challenges, implementing effective solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Lean Manufacturing: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles to enhance production processes and workflow.
Production Planning: Oversee production planning activities, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and capacity constraints.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to optimize costs while ensuring product availability and minimizing waste.
Training and Development: Educate team members on material planning, order flow, and logistics optimization best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and procurement, to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams.
Lean Expertise: Strong background in lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
Adaptability: Comfortable navigating a dynamic manufacturing environment and adapting to changing demands.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and practices.
Experience with ERP systems and logistics software.
Strong analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
