We are looking for a visionary and experienced Product Director to lead this flagship effort. This is a unique, senior role for a hands‑on product leader who will own the vision, strategy, and execution for Community Notes. You will be the leader responsible for building an effective, credible, and scaled system that can withstand public scrutiny and earn the trust of users, policymakers, and journalists. You will lead a high‑leverage team of product managers to define the future of the community notes product.

Responsibilities

  • Define the North Star: Own and articulate the long‑term product vision and strategy for Community Notes, balancing the competing demands of scale, quality, fairness, and speed.
  • Lead Product Execution: Work across a world‑class, cross‑functional team of engineers, data scientists, researchers, designers, and policy experts to execute against an ambitious roadmap.
  • Build a Scaled System: Drive the development of the core flywheel, including the contributor onboarding and retention loops, the key “bridging‑based” consensus algorithms, and optimize the experience for note viewers.
  • Champion Transparency: Partner closely with Policy, Legal, and Comms to develop and execute a world‑class transparency strategy. This includes preparing public reports, open‑sourcing our algorithms, and thinking through data‑sharing programs for academic researchers.
  • Make Principled, Data‑Driven Decisions: Utilize deep quantitative and qualitative analysis to make difficult trade‑offs, ensuring the health of the contributor community and the quality of the output.
  • Serve as a Key Internal and External Leader: Act as the primary product voice and thought leader for Community Notes with Meta's senior leadership and with key external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product management
  • Experience strategically scaling early stage product initiatives
  • Experience shipping consumer‑facing products that have reached millions of users
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior executives and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in Trust & Safety, Misinformation, or Civic Integrity
  • Experience building successful community‑powered or marketplace products
  • Experience shipping products that heavily utilize AI/ML for ranking, classification, or recommendations
  • Proven ability to work effectively with non‑product partners in Public Policy, Legal, and Communications on sensitive, high‑profile product launches
