Summary
This is an open continuous announcement. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis, and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) , a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate operations of the Ambulatory care including emergency and routine treatment procedures, ensuring quality, safety, and appropriateness of care.
Arrange and communicate provider availability and coverage during non-administrative hours.
Collaborate with education officers and residency program directors to ensure appropriate teaching and supervision of residents and students.
Develop policies and procedures based on national guidelines and communicate them to staff.
Coordinate resource use with committees/boards, including space, supplies, and staffing.
Provide formal orientation to new staff on policies, procedures, and responsibilities.
Ensure high-quality care delivery, coordinate quality improvement initiatives, and promote service-level quality management.
Organize staff training, promote continuing medical education, and participate in these activities.

Requirements
U.S. citizenship; non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible.
Full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US.
Completion of residency training approved by the VA.
Proficiency in English.
Preferred Experience and Certifications
Experience in disaster or wilderness medicine, critical care, or related fellowship training.
ATLS certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
At least 3 years of primary care experience, with hospital or emergency setting background.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
Education
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
