Physician/Medical Director This is for a future opening STGi is seeking a Primary Care Physician to provide services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The primary role is to deliver outpatient primary medical services to patients of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), overseeing the clinic's daily medical care activities. Essential Functions: Provide primary and preventative medical care within CPT codes and your training scope. Serve as the entry point into the VA healthcare system. Participate in clinical staff orientation. Lead CBOC clinicians. Evaluate and improve clinical methods and procedures. Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations for patient safety. Engage in quality improvement, care management, and related activities. Sign collaborative practice agreements with clinic APRN/PA. Manage patient care, mental health screenings, medication adjustments, and continuity of care with VAMC. Focus on wellness, prevention, and early detection. Develop ongoing relationships with veterans and facilitate referrals. Maintain infection control and confidentiality standards. Coordinate and oversee care delivery at the clinic. Administer medications and perform CPR as needed. Document patient information accurately in VISTA records. Manage patient flow and triage efficiently. Provide health education to patients and families. Participate in performance improvement programs. Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards. Act as a liaison for VAMC. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills: Active, unrestricted medical license in the practicing state. Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Current DEA registration. Experience with opioid medication management. Current CPR/BLS certification from AHA or MTN. Knowledge of medical principles, pharmacology, and patient care standards. Effective communication skills and customer service awareness. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems. Diplomatic communication skills and ability to handle difficult situations. Attention to detail and multitasking ability.
Required Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institution. Completion of a recognized residency in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Moderate physical activity; ability to handle objects up to 25 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods. Work performed in an office/clinical environment. Ability to respond quickly in medical emergencies.
