Overview Physician / Pediatrics / Florida / Permanent / Pediatric Medical Director Physician opening in Jacksonville, Florida. Position located in Jacksonville, FL. Salary: $225,000. Work schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch break; +1 weekend day per month 9:00 am–5:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch (there is flexibility with hours). The Medical Director will join the Quality Assurance team to oversee laboratory operations, ensure CLIA compliance, and collaborate with providers to advance care practices and improve outcomes. Responsibilities Laboratory Oversight and Compliance: review and oversee the Clinical Manager’s efforts in maintaining laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with CLIA standards and other regulatory requirements; conduct regular reviews of lab maintenance, documentation, and quality control processes at all locations; identify potential areas for improvement and provide guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal lab performance. CLIA Certification and Renewal: collaborate with the Clinical Manager to lead and support efforts for CLIA certification renewals; approve and review policies, procedures, and protocols related to lab operations to ensure compliance. Quality Assurance Collaboration: dedicate 2-3 days per quarter to attend Quality Assurance team meetings; collaborate with other providers to discuss advancements in care, share insights, and develop quality improvement strategies; analyze lab-related quality metrics and contribute to improving patient outcomes and care practices. Collaboration and Training: serve as a resource for the Clinical Manager and lab staff, providing support, oversight, and mentorship as needed; ensure staff are trained and up-to-date on best practices and regulatory requirements. Qualifications MD, DO, or equivalent degree with an active medical license. Familiarity with CLIA certification processes and regulatory standards for laboratory operations. Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail in compliance oversight. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work across teams. Experience in quality assurance, lab oversight, or related roles is a plus. Work Environment This role offers a balance of administrative and clinical responsibilities. The Medical Director will dedicate time away from floor duties approximately 2-3 days per quarter to focus on Quality Assurance meetings and oversight of lab operations in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
