The Pharmaceutical Trade Relations Strategy Director facilitates formulary strategy development and execution and helps ensure the promotion and success of trade strategies related to formulary development, rebate optimization and cost savings opportunities for Prime's clients. This position aids in the ideation, promotion, and presentation of trade strategies to internal stakeholders and clients and works collaboratively with key internal stakeholders including Clinical, Clinical Program Management, and Utilization Management to deliver financial opportunities to Prime's clients. Responsibilities Ensure coordination between internal and external stakeholders to actuate formulary strategy related to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives concerning pharmaceutical manufacturers Direct or manage a team of analysts to guide the approach in solving complex pharmaceutical problems, including intricate financial analysis such as dosage conversions, MAC price calculations, etc. Maintain an understanding of present and future competitive pharmaceutical landscape entailing ability to forecast changes to the pharmaceutical market; aid in development of actionable strategies to address these changes Provide direction in messaging and pull-through of strategies with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to, Trade Client Services to support trade initiatives Determine the financial viability of current and proposed patent cliff opportunities Serve as interdepartmental bridge between Trade, Clinical Program Management, Clinical, Utilization Management and other stakeholders to propagate trade strategies Lead department level meetings related to strategic planning; represent Trade Relations and provide subject matter expertise related to strategy in interdepartmental meetings, such as quarterly business committee meetings Participate in senior-level client engagement activities with external stakeholders to educate Prime clients, promote trade strategies, etc. Other duties as assigned Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience; HS diploma or GED required 8 years of related work experience to include:##5 years of experience in a PBM, healthcare or insurance organization##5 years of financial analysis experience##2 years of Trade/Rebate experience Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship. Additional Qualifications Must be decisive, results-driven, intuitive and intellectually curious to quickly assess complex situations and take calculated risks to receive desired outcomes Excellent verbal and written presentation skills with demonstrated communication and financial presentation skills Ability to establish rapport and build relationships at all levels within organizations Proven financial acumen and data analysis skills, with advanced proficiency in Access/Excel Preferred Qualifications Deep knowledge of and experience with the specialty pharmacy, networks and trade functional areas within the PBM industry Current or recent CPHT certification, basic clinical knowledge and familiarity with drugs and their use Familiarity and skill to interpret contract language Prior supervisory/management experience Physical Demands Ability to travel up to 10% of the time Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear Frequently required to reach with hands and arms Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Every employee must understand, comply with and attest to the security responsibilities and security controls unique to their job, and comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements and internal policies and procedures.
