BRCC is seeking a full-time program director to manage the Pharmacy Technician program. The position provides overall leadership for the credential – vision, direction, development, recruitment, instruction, administration, and assessment of all aspects of the program. In addition, the role: Facilitates the work of an Advisory Board
Oversees the curricula and ensures it reflects the standards set by the accrediting body, the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacy (ASHP)
Ensures program courses are delivered by qualified instructors and clinical preceptors
Serves as primary faculty member for several student cohorts each year as needed to support program revenue generation goals
Secures appropriate clinical sites and oversees the training, placement, progress, and completion of program outcomes for students at these sites
Ensures that program utilizes a self-sustaining model and generates revenue for BRCC
Holds responsibility for enrollment in the pharmacy tech program and partners with other departments across the college to ensure that student recruitment efforts are effective
Develops and monitors a budget for the program
Engages in program evaluation processes consistent with BRCC and ASHP expectations, including maintaining records and completion of annual reports and strategic plans
Ensures that learning outcomes (at both course and program level) are being collected and analyzed as per guidelines set by ASHP
Works with Career Services as needed in job placement activities for graduates
Performs other duties as assigned

KSA's/Required Qualifications Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician with a minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy practice
Knowledge of and experience adhering to Virginia State licensure and certification regulations in the practice of pharmacy
Proven track record of engaging in ongoing continuing education in the field of pharmacy
Experience using a variety of computer software/programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction
Ability to serve as a visionary, effective leader, and strategic thinker
Ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituents, including students, faculty, external businesses and partners, staff, and senior leadership Additional requirements for applicants that are Pharmacy Technicians: Must have graduated from an ASHP or ACPE accredited pharmacy technician program; OR have earned (or be actively pursuing) an Associate’s Degree Additional Considerations Entrepreneurial spirit
