The Part-time Building Brains Afterschool Program Director - Community Services will be responsible for assisting the Program Supervisor in enrolling, orienting, monitoring, leading, planning, implementing, and monitoring of the daily lesson plans, programs, projects and operations of the program's policies and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent will be an onsite lead, monitoring individuals or small groups of students in working on and completing, after school program assignments, projects and activities, as well as monitoring children to ensure their health, safety and physical well-being. Essential Duties Assisting the Program Supervisor with the development and coordination of a calendar for program activities, physical activities, and events designed to complement student learning and enrichment Orienting, monitoring, and leading children in various activities Developing and implementing lesson plans Leading children and staff through the day-to-day operation of an after-school program, including set-up and clean-up of equipment and supplies. Acting, as a liaison between parents, staff, and school personnel Answering telephones and scheduling activities, and other clerical duties, as assigned Collaborating and assisting afterschool leaders in designing and implementing activities and assignments to encourage attendee's intellectual, creative, artistic, and athletic enrichment and abilities Supervising program staff, interaction with parents and paperwork completion Planning for appropriate learning experiences for students based on the curriculum and providing an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and environmental development of student. Ensuring and enforcing health, and safety rules and procedures of program participants and facility operations Assisting, resolving, maintaining and reporting student behaviors, disputes, and performances appropriately dealing with discipline problems, accidents, and other incidents Assisting in the maintenance of accounting procedures for budgeting and expenditures and inventory of equipment and supplies Performing other duties, as assigned Public Speaking Duties Must be able to lead educational programs in front of 10 to 25 children Participating in regular staff meetings and assisting with in-service training, as needed Leading and/or facilitating educational programs to the youth and providing clear instructions on the programs Other Job Requirements/Information This job requires fingerprinting 50 - pound lift test is required Hourly rate Salary will be $21.00 Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a closely related field s, such as secondary education, special education, art, science, math and Child Development Associate (CDA). One year experience working with and monitoring school-aged children in an organized camp, afterschool, daycare, or similar setting An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered Valid driver's license CPR Certification within 6 months of employment First Aid Certification within 6 months of employment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a closely related field s, such as secondary education, special education, art, science, math and Child Development Associate (CDA).
