Pay Range: $150,000 – $185,000
Sign-On Bonus: $40,000
Annual Incentive Plan (AIP): Up to 10% of base salary

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Director of Behavioral Health to join a reputable hospital in Natick, MA . This leadership role supports a comprehensive Behavioral Health program that includes Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric units, providing care across the lifespan.
Position Summary:
The Nursing Director of Behavioral Health will provide strategic and operational leadership to behavioral health nursing units, supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. The role is accountable for day-to-day nursing operations, staff competency, resource management, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards. This position assumes 24/7 responsibility for all designated units and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and clinical oversight to nursing staff across behavioral health units
Support the CNO in strategic planning, operational execution, and quality initiatives
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and professional nursing standards
Promote a positive and collaborative work environment
Lead performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation for assigned units
Serve as a role model and advocate for professional nursing practice
Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Associate degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a hospital management or full-time charge nurse role
At least 2 years of direct experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
Licensure & Certification:
Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or ability to obtain)
Current CPR certification
Additional certifications relevant to psychiatric nursing preferred
Skills & Attributes:
Effective interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Proven ability to manage complex hospital operations
