Our church is looking for the right person to fill the Family Pastor / Director position. The Family Pastor / Director will oversee the youth ministries of our church, while also providing assistance to the children's ministry. This ideal candidate should possess a strong relationship with Jesus, is disciplined in personal Bible reading/studying, and has a rooted prayer life. Also, this person should be vision-oriented, passionate about youth and kids, and be highly relational. The candidate will also be a coach, recruiter, and leader; as well as someone who is willing to be coached and led. As the pastor / director of youth, this person will lead by example in modeling the church values and living out the mission and vision statements of The Foundation Church. This person will report directly to the Lead Pastor.
Responsibilities
Youth: Build a thriving and sustaining Youth Leadership Team. Mentor and coach, the current youth leadership team. Recruit, mentor, and coach new youth leaders.
Youth: The ideal candidate should have a clear & concise vision (stemming from the church vision and mission) and a strategic process to build a thriving and discipling youth ministry.
Youth: This process should integrate a healthy culture of disciple-making. The strategy should include celebrating benchmarks that clears a pathway for youth taking responsibility for their own relationship with Jesus Christ.
Youth: Oversee the teaching aspect of group time; with the candidate being a primary teacher.
Youth: Engage & build relationships with families and youth within the church and in the community.
Youth: As relationships with families are made, aim to help parents/guardians build a disciple-making home.
Children: Work alongside the children’s ministry; including the assistant children’s directors and team leaders.
General: May be given ministering responsibility of the Young Adult Ministry.
General: Will be given the opportunity to preach throughout the year, as assigned by the Lead Pastor. Participate and perform other functions as given by the senior staff and elders.
Qualifications & Expectations
Experience working in youth ministry and/or other youth type ministries (youth camps, CRU, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry or related field highly recommended; graduate/seminary degree preferred.
Committed to personal growth in their relationship with Jesus.
Has shown the ability to recruit, train, and develop leaders.
Ability to communicate and show a servant’s heart.
