Overview: Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures for diagnosis and treatment in a fast paced environment, requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative; following department and hospital policies and procedures in a safe and productive manner. The MRI Tech must be effective with communication, clinical skills, and able to work positively in a high stress environment with patients, peers, families and other internal / external personnel. The MRI Tech is responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of UF Health Shands, assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the patients care. Prefer satisfactory completion of an accredited MRI program with advanced MRI certification or registry eligible for MRI certification. Prefer at least one year of experience within the Radiology or MRI department with knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy a plus. Candidates that are not MRI registered may be required to complete the Medical Imaging Consultants (MIC) MRI Cross-Trainer dependent on the level of experience.
