Position Summary The Medical Director is responsible for the entire scope of the medical programs offered for S ubstance U se D isorder (SUD) patients at Recovery Works NWs outpatient facilities . Reporting directly to the CEO, the Medical Director has a deep understanding of addiction medicine, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to improving patient care through evidence-based practices. This role will involve direct clinical oversight, direct patient care, program development, quality assurance, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive treatment to individuals with substance use disorders . This is a hybrid role (which can be part time OR full time) will require in-person work one to two days per week to ensure providers feel supported and to provide patient care as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Oversight: Provide direct supervision and oversight to medical providers . Patient Care: Offer medical consultations, assessments, and treatment planning for patients seeking outpatient care for substance use disorders. Administer evidence-based interventions, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and monitor patient progress. Program Development & Improvement: Lead efforts to continuously improve treatment protocols, clinical pathways, and overall program effectiveness. Develop and implement policies related to patient care, safety, and treatment standards. Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Clinical Services and Director of Operations to ensure a holistic approach to treatment. Facilitate team meetings to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care planning and service delivery. Training & Education: Provide education and training to clinical staff, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, to maintain high levels of clinical competency and up-to-date knowledge of SUD treatment options. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure the program meets all state, federal, and accreditation body requirements. Review and monitor patient documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes to ensure best practices are being followed and that the program meets established goals for patient care and treatment outcomes. Make recommendations for process improvements based on data and outcomes. Leadership & Administration: Act as a key leader in the outpatient program, providing direction, mentorship, and leadership providers .
