POSITION SUMMARY
BLK Matter and Kaskade are seeking a Media Director to oversee all aspects of media production across tours, campaigns, and content initiatives. This hybrid role combines creative leadership with hands-on coordination, ensuring all media output aligns with the artist’s brand identity and aesthetic while being delivered seamlessly across platforms.
The Media Director will both set vision and manage execution, including directing shoots, coordinating media teams, and capturing photo/video content directly when needed. They’ll also stay strategic about future storytelling opportunities.
The ideal candidate has a balance of creative vision and organizational discipline, thrives in a fast-paced global environment, and is able and excited to travel domestically and internationally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Direction & Vision
Define and uphold the media vision and aesthetic for Kaskade and other BLK Matter artists.
Ensure creative consistency across all formats (short-form, long-form, social, live capture, multicam, etc.).
Collaborate with artists, management, and creative partners to tell authentic visual stories.
Anticipate and adopt emerging media trends and platforms to keep content innovative.
Execution & Coordination
Plan and oversee content shoots for campaigns, tours, and special projects.
Direct and coordinate photographers, videographers, and multicam crews for live shows and activations.
Manage asset delivery pipelines, ensuring timely, organized distribution to editors and internal teams.
Oversee editing workflows and provide creative feedback.
Maintain an organized, accessible archive of media assets.
Capture photo and video content directly at shows, shoots, and on the road when needed.
Leadership & Operations
Lead and mentor freelance media teams, editors, and contractors.
Oversee media budgets, contracts, and vendor negotiations.
Balance creative storytelling with deadlines, budgets, and resource constraints.
Act as the central media point of contact for internal and external partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of professional experience in media direction, production, or creative leadership within music, entertainment, or live events.
Strong background in directing multicam shoots and managing post-production workflows.
Proven ability to set creative vision and execute on-the-ground coordination.
Hands-on capability with photo and video capture/editing — able to execute directly when needed.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally as required.
Comfortable working remotely and adapting to a global, fast-paced schedule.
PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENT
While experience matters, a strong portfolio will be given greater weight than years in the industry. Applicants must provide a portfolio or reel showcasing past work in live music, creative campaigns, and/or artist media direction. Please include in your application.
