Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as the Women's and Maternal Newborn Health Service Line Director at a renowned healthcare system. This role focuses on driving the strategic growth of maternal and newborn services across multiple hospital facilities while executing a five-year strategic plan aimed at improving healthcare outcomes and addressing key challenges in the maternal health landscape.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare systems, with the ability to build and manage cross-functional partnerships without direct operational authority. This leadership role requires expertise in navigating complex healthcare environments, spearheading business development, coordinating physician recruitment, and advancing initiatives that address disparities in maternal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of the 2025 strategic plan for Women's and Maternal Newborn Health, driving growth and improving patient outcomes across the system.
- Develop and implement strategies for recruiting OB/GYNs, addressing physician shortages, and improving maternal health outcomes in a competitive and litigious Florida market.
- Drive business development for women's and maternal health services, including expanding regional NICU services and increasing market share for maternal and newborn health.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to align efforts on physician recruitment, joint ventures, and the enhancement of quality care initiatives.
- Spearhead initiatives to address healthcare disparities in maternal health outcomes, ensuring equitable care for diverse patient populations.
- Coordinate with physicians, hospital leadership, and external partners to ensure that clinical practices align with the organization's broader mission of growth and quality care.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts to achieve top-tier patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, and operational efficiency.
- Navigate hospital operations and the OB/GYN landscape to ensure seamless delivery of services and positive patient outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of leadership experience in a healthcare system, particularly in women's health, maternal newborn services, or a related clinical field.
- Education: A master's degree in nursing or a related healthcare discipline is preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead by influence without direct operational authority, collaborating effectively across stakeholders and departments.
- Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of OB/GYN operations, maternal and newborn care, and healthcare delivery systems.
- Strategic Acumen: Proven experience in driving business development, executing multi-year strategic plans, and managing complex healthcare initiatives.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with both clinical and administrative teams, as well as external partners.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex challenges such as physician recruitment and operational coordination, particularly in a competitive market.
- Cultural Competence: Strong focus on improving health outcomes for diverse populations and understanding the social determinants that impact maternal health.
