Job Summary:

The Marketing Director is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and participating in the development of marketing strategies of and products for the organization. This role involves strategic planning, market research, branding, and public relations. The Marketing Director will lead the department in the development and implementation of marketing efforts that promote the companys products, services, and overall brand identity. The role demands a visionary leader who can not only foresee market trends but also inspire and guide a team to achieve business goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains supervisory and management staff in the department.

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Develops marketing staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Maintains and enhances Hoovers brand strategy, both internally and externally.

  • Directs and implements the organizations advertising, consumer education, and promotional activities.

  • Develops marketing strategy by studying economic indicators, tracking changes in supply and demand, identifying customers and their current and future needs, understands the business needs, and monitors the competition.

  • Maintains relations with retailers by organizing and developing specific retailer-relations programs and determines company presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.

  • Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.

  • Maintains research database by identifying and assembling marketing information.

  • Identifies new market segments that will benefit from company products.

  • Maintains knowledge on emerging products and services.

  • Collaborates with senior executives to develop growth plans for the organization.

  • Forecasts, drafts, implements, and oversees the departments operating budget.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.

  • At least 5 7 years of experience in marketing or related field required. This should include progressively responsible roles leading to senior management positions.

  • Experience in the same or a related industry can be highly beneficial.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a marketing team. This includes strategic planning, execution, and managing a team of marketers, designers, and/or analysts.

  • Experience in managing large-scale marketing projects and campaigns from inception to completion.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Thorough understanding of market developments.

  • Thorough understanding of marketing strategies and practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Requires the ability to tolerate unpleasant odors associated with eggs and poultry of various quality.

  • Normal corrective vision range, ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Frequently required to sit, walk, talk, hear, bend, reach, and stand.

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
