Overview As part of the Americas Commercial Marketing team, the Director, Market Development - Pharmaceuticals will be responsible for leading a small team in developing and executing a marketing plan that supports the business objectives of our instrumentation, software, consumables, and services within the Americas, across Small Molecule and Large Molecule/Biotech markets. The individual will understand customer needs, market dynamics, and regulatory influences to collaboratively develop marketing and sales strategies aimed at generating pipeline revenue. Responsibilities Tactical Plan Design and Execution: Lead the development and implementation of a marketing business plan aligned with corporate strategy to achieve pharmaceutical revenue goals in the Americas. Focus on developing and executing an integrated marketing plan to promote Waters solutions through various channels including communications, digital campaigns, seminars, user meetings, customer visits, scientific meetings, and tradeshows. Demand Generation: Strategize and execute marketing activities to generate and nurture leads via events, digital marketing, targeted social media advertising, and cooperative marketing with partners to optimize pipeline growth. Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee marketing performance metrics such as MQLs, conversion rates, funnel creation, campaign success, and sales orders. Advocate for Customer Needs: Ensure training, products, services, and business requirements meet customer expectations by collaborating across multiple organizational units to build consensus and influence change. Team Development: Train, develop, and support the local Pharmaceutical Marketing team to achieve their objectives within the larger Americas team. Industry SME/Champion: Establish as a subject matter expert in the Pharmaceutical industry within the Americas, working with sales, product, service, and global teams to support efforts engaging pharmaceutical customers. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in scientific, engineering, or marketing discipline. 10+ years of marketing and business development experience, preferably with Waters or similar instrumentation/software/services supporting the pharmaceutical industry. Proven ability to develop and execute business plans and lead independently. People management experience with talent development skills. Excellent interpersonal skills: effective communication, execution, innovation, customer focus, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. Ability to build effective relationships across departments locally and globally. Self-motivated with adaptability to changing demands. The general base pay ranges from $173,500 to $231,500 annually, depending on market location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
