Market Director Of Perioperative Nursing MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a dynamic and inspiring leader to serve as the new Market Director of Perioperative Nursingan opportunity to drive meaningful change and lead surgical services across Central Iowa. The Position | Permanent/On-Site The Market Director Nursing Perioperative Services will oversee comprehensive perioperative services across multiple sites, including two hospital campuses, an outpatient GI center, an on-campus ambulatory surgery center (ASC), and an infusion center. Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and will oversee three direct reports. This leader will drive transformative change across the system's Perioperative Services by spearheading efficiency and process improvement initiatives, including optimizing First Case On-Time Starts and Turnaround Times. Key responsibilities include evaluating staffing structures, identifying performance improvement opportunities, and advancing leadership development among team members. The role will also focus on strategic growth, including expanding departmental volume through the launch of new service lines and enhancing the robotics program. Ideal candidates will be experienced change management leaders with a proven track record of driving departmental and process improvements. A hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" leadership style is preferred. Previous experience in trauma and acute care settings, along with familiarity working in a similarly sized OR, is essential. Previous Magnet experience preferred, but not required. The position involves regular on-site presence across all campus locations to ensure cohesive leadership and operational alignment. Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree strongly preferred. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required. CNOR certification required, or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Minimum of five years of leadership experience in a large, complex operating room (OR) setting at the Director level or equivalent, coupled with at least three years of relevant clinical OR experience.
