OVERVIEW
The Savant Market Development Director is focused on designing and executing comprehensive sales plans to drive adoption of new or key product/software categories. This role will collaborate with various departments, including product and marketing teams, to develop sales and marketing strategies, drive product awareness and gain market share across targeted business/customer channels.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Develop and execute detailed go-to-market strategies for the GE Proseo lighting control, lighting fixture/lamp and shading product families. Create a brand story and product narratives that help define the Savant value proposition.
Develop product application education and marketing that spotlights a variety of job types and use cases for products/software.
Develop sales team education resources that align with brand and product story.
Provide guidance and leadership to the outside and inside sales teams, including how to navigate a sales pitch, effectively sell against competitive solutions, and increase close rate.
Create and execute channel strategies for GE Proseo lighting control, lighting fixture/lamp and shading product families. Increase market share within the Custom Installation channel.
Build and develop new sales channels, including window treatment dealers and electrical contractors.
Foster relationships and secure product specifications from lighting specifiers, interior designers, architects and other trade professionals. Ensure education and CEU credited materials meet the needs of the market and are delivered quarterly across key markets.
Target specific markets to drive specification, generating pre-designed projects for custom installers and other sales channels
Analyze performance metrics, competitive environment and market conditions and adjust sales and marketing tactics accordingly
Qualifications
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline
5-8 years of experience in sales development, including demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth
Experience with home automation and control, networking, entertainment, lighting and HVAC control solutions
Excellent financial acumen, with the ability to develop and implement short- and long-term sales development strategies that align with company goals
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent listening skills.
Excellent presentation and computer skills, proficient in Keynote, iPad/iPhone applications, webinar platforms, etc.
Ability to analyze and adapt to business priorities
Solid financial and budgetary skills
Ability to work a variable schedule with willingness to travel
Ability to work remotely from home office
COMPENSATION
The base salary range is $100,000 - $120,000 + Incentive. The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Savant is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, attaining your sales target qualifies you for additional compensation.
