The Managing Director will be responsible for identifying and managing the development of new market-rate multifamily rental opportunities in the Nashville market. The position will be focused on growing TCR’s business in the target submarket through pursuing profitable and sound development opportunities. The Managing Director will be supported by TCR’s larger development, asset management, and construction teams, but will act as the primary interface between internal and external project teams throughout the life cycle of new development opportunities. Primary Responsibilities Identify, pursue and negotiate potential multifamily development opportunities, leveraging relationships with brokers, land sellers, homebuilders and investors Oversee the due diligence process, coordinating with internal teams and external parties Execute and manage the pre-development feasibility assessment, acquisition, design, development, asset managements and disposition of properties Lead equity and debt financing for pipeline opportunities Monitor development and construction processes to ensure projects are completed as scheduled Conduct site investigations, financial feasibility studies, project budgeting and meetings Manage division cash requirements, expenditures and project budgets Monitor schedules to meet landowners/ building owner, development and construction goals Perform asset management function by working with team to maximize property value and position for sale and disposition of property Build team for Nashville region, as needed, and provide necessary leadership Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or equivalent required, Master’s Degree preferred 8+ years of relevant development or acquisitions experience, 5+ years of development or acquisitions experience in the Nashville area with market-rate multifamily rental product; specific experience with ground up development preferred Experience with Nashville permitting/zoning/entitlement process highly desired Experience with coordinating multiple consultants and third-party vendors required Strong experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) Customer service-oriented mindset, with superb communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Site selection and submarket understanding is required Underwriting and market analysis experience is required Analytically-oriented with general knowledge of design, architecture, construction and development
