About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Strategy and Operations in the Commercial and Emerging Middle Market. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving and influencing the development and execution of large-scale strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all key strategic initiatives to meet client experience and financial objectives, fostering a culture aligned with the company's purpose and values, and ensuring the successful implementation of approved strategic initiatives. The role requires a seasoned expert with a post-secondary degree in a related field, at least 9 years of relevant experience, and a proven track record in business or commercial banking, particularly in a credit underwriting operational environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transformation, financial acumen, and the ability to work horizontally with partners.
Key responsibilities for the Managing Director include leading the leadership team in strategic assessments, developing and executing competitive intelligence capabilities, and ensuring data-driven decision-making. The role also involves acting as the prime contact for internal and external stakeholder relationships, including regulators, and leading the development of communication strategies to influence behavior. The candidate should be a technical leader, viewed as a thought leader for innovation, with expert-level skills in communication, problem-solving, influence, collaboration, and team management. They will be expected to operate at a group/enterprise-wide level, with the ability to anticipate trends and implement appropriate changes. The position demands a leader who can build and retain top talent, improve team performance, and ensure compliance with enterprise governance processes.
