About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Policy and State Coalitions to lead a high-impact team in the development and advocacy of student-centered, data-driven policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic department leadership, collaborative organization leadership, and will play a key role in shaping the organization's strategic vision. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in influencing policy outcomes at the state level, the ability to translate complex issues into clear messages, and a strong commitment to providing equal access to opportunities for all students. The Managing Director will also be tasked with team management, external representation, and establishing metrics to track progress and communicate outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in public policy, advocacy, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. They should be adept at building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including policymakers, education leaders, and community partners. A deep understanding of education and/or workforce policy, particularly in the context of Texas or similar environments, is preferred. The role demands a leader who is innovative, and inclusive, and who can demonstrate a relentless focus on achieving systemic, sustainable results that increase equitable outcomes. The Managing Director will be expected to work with a team that is dedicated to the mission of the organization and to embody the true north traits of systemic impact, judgment, communication, innovation, equity, inclusion, joy, and integrity.
