Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
- Lead the development and execution of the long-term strategic plan for both organic and inorganic growth in metal fabrication.
- Identify opportunities for growth, process improvements, and innovation across all areas of metal fabrication.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align fabrication strategies with overall company goals and market demands.
Capital Expenditure Management:
- Develop and oversee the capital expenditure budget for metal fabrication equipment, technology, and infrastructure.
- Stay abreast of cutting-edge advancements in fabrication technologies (e.g., automation, laser cutting, robotics) and evaluate opportunities for implementation.
- Lead the integration of innovative equipment and technology to optimize fabrication processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Procurement Strategy:
- Design and implement procurement strategies for sourcing materials, equipment, and components required for metal fabrication operations.
- Lead supply chain activities to ensure uninterrupted production and adherence to project timelines.
Operational Execellence:
- Lead Operations, Engineering, and Design to ensure the fabrication business unit meets customer requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
- Work closely with Sales on strategic initiatives and growth focus.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the fabrication team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure high levels of performance, engagement, and professional growth.
- Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all industry safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 15+ years in the metal fabrication industry, with a strong background in tube mill operations, laser cutting, welding, and fabrication. Experience working in packaging, automotive, technology, glass, and transportation equipment sectors is preferred.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale fabrication operations at the Director level or higher.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
- Location: This position can be located anywhere in the Southeast.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of capital expenditure management and procurement strategies.
- Expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
