The Role: Managing Director – M&A
The firm is seeking an experienced and highly capable professional to serve as Managing Director – M&A. This senior, client-facing role is suited for an individual with a proven history of successfully structuring and closing complex M&A transactions. The Managing Director will take ownership of transactions and lead deal teams, providing strategic guidance throughout the entire deal lifecycle and ensuring consistently high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the execution and closing of a wide range of M&A transactions, including sales, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, and strategic sales.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with business owners, executives, investors, and strategic buyers.
Provide leadership and mentorship to clients and deal teams, offering strategic direction across all stages of the transaction.
Oversee engagements from initial strategy and valuation through negotiation and closing.
Apply proprietary valuation methodologies and a rigorous review framework to maximize client value.
Hire, train, and manage team members, including M&A representatives.
Contribute to broader firm initiatives, including strategic planning, business development, and thought leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
At least 15 years of experience in M&A sales, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or advisory.
Demonstrated success in closing 10+ M&A transactions (preferably sell-side), ideally across a variety of industries.
Established network of C-suite executives, investors, and strategic acquirers.
Deep expertise in financial modeling, valuation, structuring, and deal negotiation.
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced credentials such as an MBA or CFA are preferred.
Proficiency in CRM platforms, ideally HubSpot.
