Overview Managing Director, Head Operations Strategy & Transformation – RBC
This position leads the US WM Operations’ Operations Strategy & Transformation function, including the US WM Operations technology strategy, initiative prioritization & management, technology funding & financial reporting, and strategic transformation initiatives. Responsibilities include change management activities, governance, reporting, and executing initiatives that support both the US Wealth Management business and Global Wealth Management Operations strategies. The incumbent reports to the Head of US Wealth Management Operations.
The role requires ensuring execution of the project portfolio related to timeline and financial expectations, communicating progress with executive presentations, and delivering large-scale change through cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Technology, Product, Field, and Compliance.
The incumbent should understand WM Broker Dealer Operations best practices, RBC US Wealth Management priorities, and align projects with strategic plans for US WM Operations. The role also involves resourcing, funding, and driving multiple UHNW foundational capabilities, including system implementations, process changes, and product feature creation.
This position interacts with various business lines and internal/external stakeholders, acting as a senior liaison for Operations and RBC Wealth Management. It requires awareness of regulatory and organizational risks and adherence to applicable policies, processes, and standards related to Wealth Management at RBC Capital Markets LLC Broker Dealer.
What will you do? Management and Oversight Lead, manage and support Operations’ change management teams to ensure project delivery on timeframes and realization of benefits.
Partner with US WM Operations Senior Leadership to develop and maintain a 3–5 year roadmap aligned to strategic priorities.
Develop and deliver concise, impactful executive presentations highlighting risks and proposed solutions, and drive required actions.
Develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy and operating model to support large strategic initiatives such as the US Wealth Management UHNW strategy.
Oversee and manage CTB/RTB technology initiative intake, prioritization, funding, and implementation; prioritize automation with clear business value and alignment to strategies.
Drive priorities to increase capacity, streamline processing, and meet regulatory and strategic timelines.
Monitor and report post-implementation effectiveness of new technology, processes, and procedures to improve timeliness, reduce expenses, and enrich service.
Technology Financial Budgets, Forecasting & Reporting Manage US WM Operations IT capability budget, forecasts, staffing models, and metrics.
Lead development and execution of technology strategy business plans.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have 4-year degree or equivalent, OR High school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience
Securities license 7 or 99; SER 27 a plus
10+ years in securities/banking/technology with managerial experience
10+ years of project management, vendor management, analysis, and/or risk control
Proven track record delivering multiple major change initiatives
Nice-to-have Experience with FINRA, SEC, FED, OCC and/or IRS regulatory matters and audits
Ability to adapt to rapid change and shifting priorities
Advanced knowledge of WM products, business lines, strategy, and technology
Strong analytical and issue-resolution skills for complex processes
Background in complex project implementation from requirements to benefits realization
Leadership experience with broker-dealer operations administrative services including governance and AI/RPA initiatives

The good-faith expected salary range for this position is $160,000 - $250,000, with actual compensation to be determined by experience, skills, and market conditions. This does not include discretionary bonus or standard benefits (401(k) with company matching, health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, paid time off).
