BDO’s Resilience practice is a recognized leader in helping organizations anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events. Our multidisciplinary team delivers a comprehensive suite of services—including Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Cyber/IT Disaster Recovery, and Third-Party Risk Management—to clients across industries.
Reporting directly to the Resilience Practice leader, the Managing Director grows and strengthens our Financial Services operational resilience offering. Working in a hybrid environment, they are responsible for driving new business, leading client engagements, shaping practice strategy, and mentoring junior team members. The Managing Director will be expected to achieve specific sales targets, playing a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and ensuring the continued delivery of high-impact, innovative solutions to our clients.
Job Duties:
Matures and leads the Resilience practice’s financial services industry offerings
Originates work through strong market relationships
Leads client pitches, development of proposals and new relationships through CRM
Establishes engagement budgets, coordinates deliverables, and maintains appropriate project management to ensure engagements are delivered “on time, on budget, and as promised”
Proactively identifies project risks and issues and resolves them in a timely manner
Cultivates and maintains strong, trust-based strategic relationships with key client decision makers
Identifies revenue growth opportunities and coordinates business development efforts including drafting and issuance of statements of work
Oversees multiple client engagements
Provides clients with strategic guidance (written and verbal) in the disciplines of business continuity, crisis management, resiliency, and/or enterprise risk management
Recommends enhancements to client operations and infrastructure to strengthen risk management capabilities
Contributes to the development of methodologies and intellectual capital
Applies AI and data-driven solutions to build scalable and forward-looking strategies
Exhibits mastery of consulting methodology, materials, tools, and risk management software
Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises the day-to-day workload of Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work product
Acts as Career Advisor to professionals in the practice as appropriate
Provides strong leadership, technical guidance, coaching, support and confidence building to managers and junior consultants ensuring they are trained on all relevant tools and techniques
Evaluates the performance of team members and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
Manages consulting, financial and operational numbers, such as utilization, realization, margin, sales pipeline
Demonstrates ability to grow, expand, cross-sell accounts
Manages economics of the Financial Services practice area to include determining and administering the services of the practice, overseeing professionals and ensuring engagements achieve engagement metrics
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
Bachelor's degree, required; major in Business Administration or Risk Management, preferred
Master of Business Administration (MBA), preferred
Experience:
Fifteen (15) or more years of consulting experience in financial services, operational risk management, business continuity or crisis management, required
Experience successfully building new business and leading engagements within the professional services industry, required
Experience with resilience and industry specific regulatory requirements (., FFIEC, FRB, NYDFS, and DORA), required
Licenses/Certifications:
DRII, BCI, and/or Series 7, preferred
Software:
Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
Experience with Teams, or other web-based meeting applications, preferred
Experience with SharePoint and familiarity with cloud-based CRM tools, preferred
Familiarity with risk and/or resiliency software (. Archer, Fusion, Origami, ServiceNow Fairchild, , preferred

Willing and able to travel, when necessary
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $200,000 - $400,000
Maryland Range: $200,000 - $400,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $400,000
