The position requires expertise in risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and strategic collaboration with legal counsel, with a scope that can be national or company-wide.
Work Schedule: Flexible, hybrid schedule available near any CNA office.
Job Responsibilities: Manage complex commercial claims with significant loss exposure, overseeing coverage, investigations, negotiations, and litigation management.
Deliver exceptional customer service by improving claim processes and maintaining quality standards.
Verify coverage, manage reserves, and collaborate with coverage counsel.
Lead investigations to determine liability and damages, working with experts as needed.
Develop and execute claim resolution strategies, including negotiations and litigation management.
Manage claim budgets and resources efficiently.
Identify subrogation, salvage, or fraud opportunities for further action.
Ensure claims are handled according to company protocols and are properly documented and resolved timely.
Present complex information to senior leadership and external partners.
Maintain expertise in relevant laws and regulations, representing CNA in industry groups as appropriate.
Mentor and train less experienced claims professionals.
Qualifications: Expertise in commercial insurance, policies, coverage, and claims practices.
Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
Leadership in managing complex negotiations and strategies.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Insurance Adjuster License required within 90 days where applicable. Professional designations like CPCU encouraged.
Compensation: In Illinois, New York, California, and other specified states, the base pay ranges from $97,000 to $189,000 annually, with regional differences up to $205,000. CNA offers comprehensive benefits.
