Major Account Executive

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts through regular personal visits and follow-up, with anticipated field time of at least four days per week. Achieve the annual sales plan by focusing on growth and penetration of current accounts. Present innovative ideas and products from key vendors and exclusive brands to enhance account loyalty and penetration. Manage product offerings to optimize profit margins while ensuring compliance with contracts. Communicate proactively with customers about performance, new products, programs, and market trends through both informal interactions and formal Business Reviews. Lead the sales team (Sales Coordinator) to achieve successful results for assigned accounts, ensuring optimal service and coordination with operational and purchasing functions. Maximize the time spent by the Account Executive with customers to enhance relationship-building efforts. Meet or exceed accounts receivable currency targets, coordinating with central accounts receivable as necessary. Conduct thorough reviews of all accounts to ensure compliance with programs, identify unique sales approaches, and expand sales opportunities. Maintain comprehensive profiles of all accounts, including order guides, periodical statements, and overall reporting, ensuring pricing accuracy. Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, food shows, and conferences as required by management and customer demands. Assist with the setup and support for the rollout of new accounts as assigned. SUPERVISION None RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Sales Coordinator, RSM, and VP of Sales, Accounting, Purchasing, Operations External: Customers, Vendors QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training: High School diploma with a minimum of three years relevant experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent preferred. Related Experience: Minimum three years of sales and distribution experience required (experience in foodservice industry is preferred). Experience in restaurant operations is desirable. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent customer service and presentation abilities. Proven problem-solving and negotiation skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) is required. This role offers incentive compensation.
