About the Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated  Maintenance Director  to join our leadership team in launching a  brand-new, state-of-the-art nursing home  in Holland, Michigan. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the operational foundation of our facility from the ground up. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in maintenance leadership, regulatory compliance, and a passion for creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement operational strategies for facility readiness and ongoing maintenance.
Oversee all aspects of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with  Michigan state regulations  and  long-term care standards .
Lead the setup and maintenance of  preventative maintenance programs  and  emergency preparedness plans .
Manage procurement and allocation of maintenance supplies, tools, and vendor services.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors during the final stages of construction and facility setup.
Establish and enforce policies and procedures related to maintenance operations.
Monitor and report on operational metrics, budgets, and performance indicators to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure all maintenance activities align with  health, safety, and environmental regulations .
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a  Maintenance Director  or similar leadership role, preferably in a  healthcare or long-term care setting .
Minimum of  2 years’ experience in a long-term care facility .
Strong knowledge of  Michigan building codes ,  fire safety ,  HVAC systems , and  life safety regulations .
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in  MS Office  and  TELS .
Ability to interpret data and metrics to drive operational decisions.
Experience managing  vendor relationships  and  service contracts .
