We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Director to lead our maintenance department and ensure our nursing facility remains safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors. The Maintenance Director plays a key leadership role in maintaining building systems, equipment, and grounds, while ensuring full compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, including all Life Safety Code requirements. Maintenance Director Duties & Responsibilities: Oversee all maintenance operations within the facility, including supervision, training, and scheduling of maintenance staff
Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all building systems, equipment, and resident rooms
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including Life Safety Code, OSHA, and Department of Health requirements
Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
Coordinate and monitor outside vendors and contractors for repairs, renovations, and specialized services
Oversee maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems throughout the building
Manage the maintenance budget, inventory, and purchasing of parts, supplies, and equipment
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs and ensure timely and effective resolution
Participate in facility safety meetings and emergency preparedness planning
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship among the maintenance staff
Maintenance Director Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational certification preferred
Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Prior experience in a nursing home, long-term care, or healthcare facility strongly preferred
Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety equipment
Strong understanding of Life Safety Code, OSHA, and other regulatory standards for healthcare facilities
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects efficiently
Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
