Position Summary:

Logistics Business Management/Logistics Branch Director will oversee daily operation activities, manage and plan both domestic and international transportation to meet customer’s satisfaction. He/she will communication with customers, carriers, and internal management staff to ensure to maximize the branch operation to the growth of Samsung SDS America.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership by implementing short-term plans and defining goals aligned with the company’s mission and strategic direction.
Oversee and manage daily branch operations, with a focus on customer service and financial performance.
Increase branch productivity through employee training, effective budgeting, process improvements, and identifying growth opportunities.
Manage logistics operations including air and ocean transportation, local distribution, drayage, and warehouse functions.
Ensure operational excellence by aligning practices with customer requirements and internal company guidelines.
Apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to resolve operational issues and drive continuous improvement.
Investigate and report service failures, accidents, misconduct, security incidents, or claims to the appropriate departments for timely resolution.
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports; brief team leaders on operational highlights and issues.
Lead daily management meetings to review previous day’s performance and develop action plans for current operations.
Manage end-to-end employee processes in partnership with HR, including recruitment, retention, performance management, promotions, succession planning, and compensation strategy.
Develop high-performing teams by motivating, organizing, and fostering teamwork to achieve set productivity goals.
Support sales initiatives and assist in acquiring new business opportunities with both Samsung and non-Samsung clients.
Handle internal and external reporting requirements, including communications with SDS HQ in Korea.
Forecast and manage monthly and annual revenue and net income targets.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in business-related field, logistics or Supply Chain required
13+ years of Logistics Management experience required.
5+ year experience as a logistics manager with a proven record of leadership and performance required
Strong understanding of the international transportation/ freight forwarding industry required
Strong cross-functional teamwork, collaboration, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
Great interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate openly and effectively
Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word
TMS and WMS system experience preferred
Ability to travel up to 10% in the US
