Compensation: $75,000 $82,000/year
Location: Staten Island, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Our client is seeking an LMSW Assistant Director in Staten Island, NY to lead outreach and housing programs for individuals experiencing homelessness. This role is ideal for a licensed social worker with supervisory experience, crisis intervention expertise, and a background in behavioral health and housing placement. Youll manage daily field operations, oversee clinical staff, and collaborate with medical teams and city agencies to support housing transitions.
Responsibilities as the LMSW Assistant Director (Outreach & Housing Services):
Program Oversight: Manage daily outreach and housing placement operations across Staten Island.
Staff Supervision: Lead and support Clinical Coordinators and Community Health Specialists through regular supervision.
Outreach & Engagement: Direct field strategies in high-need areas using harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches.
Crisis & Clinical Support: Guide teams through risk assessments, crisis de-escalation, and emergency psychiatric evaluations.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with city agencies, hospitals, and providers to ensure timely, integrated care.
Qualifications for the LMSW Assistant Director (Outreach & Housing Services):
Licensure: NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.
Experience: 2+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in outreach, housing services, or behavioral health roles serving homeless populations.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), with familiarity in Access-based databases preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, crisis management, and communication skills with the ability to support staff and navigate complex partnerships.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed models of care.
Licensure Requirement: Valid NY, NJ, CT, or PA drivers license with a clean driving record.
