We are a growing, dynamic law firm seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in a diverse and engaging practice that includes business, commercial, and real estate litigation, along with a smaller portion of family law matters. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Candidates must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines without breaking a sweat. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset where you don't wait to be told what to do. A successful candidate must also have a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage calendars and critical deadlines
File documents in state and federal courts
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Draft correspondence
Edit and proofread documents
Open new files and close files upon completion
Scan, file, and import documents
Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings
Calendar deadlines, including reminders and follow-ups
Screen client calls and gather client intake information
Perform conflict checks
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and mediations
Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Prior experience as a litigation legal assistant preferred
Experience with state and federal court e-filing
Experience assisting with trial preparation
Managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with case management and document management systems
Experience coordinating depositions, mediations, etc.
Experience calendaring and following up on deadlines
