Job Title: Traditional Worship & Music Director Purpose Statement: The Traditional Worship & Music Director leads Christ Venice Church in glorifying God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—through traditional worship experiences that are theologically rich, musically excellent, and spiritually formative. This role equips volunteer musicians and vocalists to lead and provides music that enhances the overall worship of the church. Reports To: Senior Pastor Status: Part-time (20-22 Hours) Key Responsibilities: Worship Planning & Leadership • Plan, prepare, and lead music for weekly traditional and blended worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor. • Coordinate and direct the Adult Choir for weekly participation in worship. • Plan and direct musical offerings for the Bell Choir (at least monthly and during holidays). • Lead and schedule the Church Orchestra for regular participation (Oct–May, minimum 8 months). • Develop and schedule small vocal and instrumental ensembles to contribute monthly to services. • Provide or coordinate prelude, offertory, and postlude music (organ, piano, or instrumental), with titles submitted to the office by Wednesday weekly. Special Services & Events • Plan and direct large-scale seasonal performances (Christmas and Easter) incorporating choir, orchestra, and instrumentalists. • Participate in Vacation Bible School by engaging children and youth through music. • Collaborate monthly with the Missions and Outreach for music ministry at care facilities and community venues. • Plan monthly children’s worship music opportunities in partnership with the Children’s Director. Team Building & Volunteer Development • Actively recruit and equip volunteer musicians, vocalists, and ensemble leaders. • Encourage multigenerational participation in worship and music ministry. • Collaborate with the Contemporary Music Director for cross-team development and support. Administration & Oversight • Attend weekly Staff and Creative Team meetings. • Submit and manage the Traditional Music Ministry budget. • Maintain all instruments and music-related equipment. • Schedule personnel coverage for absences (vacation, illness, etc.). • Provide a weekly rehearsal schedule. Weekly office hour requirements will be provided by the Senior Pastor. • Coordinate all music components for memorials, weddings, and other special services as needed. Qualifications: • Committed Christian who professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. • Bachelor’s degree in Music or equivalent experience. • 3–5 years of experience leading in a church or similar setting. • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. • Passion for multigenerational worship and outreach. • Aligned with Christ Venice Church’s mission and Wesleyan theology. Team Collaboration: Works closely with: Senior Pastor, Preaching Team, Tech Team, Communications, and Outreach Teams General Expectations: • Present Sundays 7:30 AM–1:00 PM and available for midweek rehearsals. • Attends weekly staff meetings and participates in seasonal planning. • Prays regularly for worship team members and the church body. • Pray regularly for the church and its people. • Support the broader mission and values of Christ Venice Church. • Be present at Major church events. #J-18808-Ljbffr
