Investments Talent and Training Director We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments team at Mercer. This role can be based in New York, Boston, King of Prussia, Chicago, St. Louis, or Atlanta. This is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As the Investments Talent and Training Director, you will lead the development and execution of talent strategies across the US Investments organization, focusing on recruitment, assessment, training, and development.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Investment Client Office, HR, Learning & Development, and senior leadership to establish formal training protocols, success metrics, and career development pathways.
Report on talent development progress and provide strategic insights to senior leadership to support organizational growth and transformation.
Collaborate with the offshore investments team, working as one team to align talent strategies and training, share best practices, and foster a unified organizational culture.
Leverage investment acumen to support a small number of investment clients.
Oversee talent profiles and talent assessment processes for investment professionals, including performance reviews, promotion decisions, and competency evaluations, in partnership with the Wealth Leadership Team.
Drive the design and implementation of competency frameworks, onboarding programs, and promotion criteria to ensure a high-caliber investments talent pipeline.
Manage and coordinate targeted investment learning opportunities, including Growth Days and other development initiatives.
Establish and maintain a formal training program for People Managers and junior staff, fostering accountability, continuous learning and professional growth.
Monitor and report on talent metrics to inform strategic decisions.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional growth across the organization.
What you need to have
A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.
Strong experience in talent, training and people management within the investment or financial services sector, with emphasis on recruitment, training, and professional development.
Proven ability to lead with influence, inspiring cross-functional teams and senior leaders to embrace talent initiatives and drive organizational change.
Experience supporting investment clients directly or consulting experience, enabling you to tailor talent solutions to client needs.
A demonstrated commitment to fostering a high-performance culture balancing rigorous investment standards with continuous learning.

All Mercer colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. The applicable base salary range for this role is $162,000 to $324,000. In addition to base salary, performance-based incentives may apply.
