Desired start date: November 4th 2024 We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Insurance Fraud Division Director to lead our efforts in combating insurance fraud. This role is pivotal in supervising investigations, enforcing insurance regulations, and supporting legislative and administrative measures to uphold the integrity of the insurance industry. Summary of Work
Criminal Investigations:Investigate and delegate allegations of insurance fraud by analyzing referrals, claim files, and police reports, as well as conducting interviews and executing search and arrest warrantPresent cases for prosecution, process discovery documents, liaise with prosecuting attorneys, and testify in court.Coordinate multi-jurisdictional investigations to ensure comprehensive case management. Regulatory Investigations:Investigate violations of the insurance regulatory code by reviewing documents, interviewing witnesses, and gathering evidence.Present cases for regulatory action, process discovery documents, and collaborate with department attorneys and leadership. Testify at hearings as required. Supervision:Oversee and mentor subordinate employees by reviewing their work, providing feedback, and ensuring adherence to department policies and ethical standards.Conduct regular meetings for coaching and addressing individual performance issues.Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive strategies for improvement. Public Outreach:Engage in public anti-fraud campaigns through speaking engagements and public service announcements to raise awareness and educate the community. Maintaining Equipment and Training:Ensure the reliability and safety of assigned equipment including weapons, vehicles, and computers.Attend regular training to stay current with industry trends, proficiency standards, and Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) licensing requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, criminal justice, or a related field.Minimum of five years of experience in the insurance industry, or a related regulatory program, or law enforcement; including supervisory experience.Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Skills and Competencies:Strong leadership and team management abilities.In-depth knowledge of insurance regulations, if relevant.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Effective communication and public speaking skills.Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.Proficiency in budget management and fiscal oversight. Requires a bachelor’s degree and five years of insurance industry, or a related regulatory program, or law enforcement experience and supervision. Relevant years of experience may supplement education requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensure: Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed peace officers in the State of North Dakota or who hold a legal license as an attorney. While this is not a mandatory requirement, such credentials are highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset in the selection process. About Team ND
