Position Summary
The Human Resources Director (HRD/HRM) is responsible for planning, developing, and administering the facility’s Human Resources and Payroll programs in accordance with facility standards and applicable federal and state regulations. This role ensures HR practices align with the mission, values, and goals of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct all HR department functions.
Review and process all departmental requests for new or replacement personnel.
Coordinate interview scheduling, applicant screenings, and reference checks.
Maintain compliant and organized personnel records and filing systems.
Ensure all hiring and termination procedures follow company policy and legal requirements.
Conduct thorough employee background checks per facility protocol.
Lead onboarding and orientation for new hires, including policy, payroll, safety, and grievance procedures.
Provide employee counseling and disciplinary support as needed.
Conduct exit interviews and maintain records of feedback and trends.
Promote and maintain positive employee relations and morale.
Plan and coordinate mandatory in-service training (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, compliance).
Manage and support employee retention efforts and lead new initiatives.
Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
Uphold confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty effectively.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR administration.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations relevant to nursing care facilities.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
High level of integrity and discretion with confidential information.
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems is a plus.
