Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced  Human Resources Director / Scheduler to lead the HR function at Kinzua Nursing and Rehab. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the facility’s culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting a thriving, engaged workforce. Reporting directly to the Administrator, the HR Director will collaborate with leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities as HR:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the facility's mission and operational goals.
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on workforce planning, talent development, and employee relations.
Employee Relations & Culture:
Promote a positive workplace culture through initiatives that support employee well-being and satisfaction.
Address employee concerns promptly and professionally, mediating conflicts when necessary.
Organize staff recognition programs and team-building activities.
Compliance & Administration:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and SNF-specific regulations.
Maintain accurate employee records, including licensure and certifications.
Conduct HR audits and lead the preparation for state and federal surveys.
Training & Development:
Identify staff training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.
Conduct onboarding sessions and ongoing education to reinforce company policies and values.
Implement leadership development programs to prepare team members for growth within the organization.
Performance Management:
Oversee annual performance evaluations and provide guidance on goal setting and improvement plans.
Collaborate with supervisors to address performance issues constructively.
Scheduling:
Key Responsibilities:
Consult with nursing department staff and supervisors concerning the staffing/scheduling needs to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and/or improving services.
Coordinate appropriate coverage for “call-outs” for each scheduled shift in a timely fashionand alert the nursing supervisor regrading vacant slots which have not been filled for upcoming shifts.
Develop a workforce strategy which provides for sufficient numbers of licensed nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to meet the individualized needs of residents and to comply with state staffing requirements.
Ensure the facility has sufficient staff with the appropriate competencies and skill sets to provide nursing and related services to assure resident safety.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification highly desirable.
3+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare or SNF setting.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and healthcare regulations.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
