We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated GSRP Director/Lead Teacher. You must be FULLY CERTIFIED to be considered for this position.
NATURE OF THE POSITION:
The Director/Lead Teacher is responsible for adhering to all licensing rules and guidelines. The director will ensure that all paperwork, documentation, and regulations are followed and enforced to provide high quality. The director is responsible for all renewals and communication regarding licensing. The Director/Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing and following all Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Requirements as required by MiLEAP and the ISD. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid State of Michigan Teacher Certification with a ZS or ZA endorsement
Master’s degree in early childhood education or child development or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of successful work experience in an early childhood setting. RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION: Creates a classroom learning environment that is aligned with all program requirements.
Understand licensing and GSRP requirements.
Communicate with parents and other team members about student progress and plan for future instruction.
Maintain accurate records to document student performance to include attendance, grades, and behavior.
Integrate technology into teaching and professional activities.
Make sure enrollment requirements are met.
Collaborate with the teaching team and coaches.
Create and maintain effective communication with parents.
Work on curriculum development in addition to implementation.
Integrate technology into the instructional program and demonstrate professional use.
Maintain up-to-date information per licensing, ensure all documents are kept and remain current.
Keeps current on licensing rules, attends meetings as needed, consistently referring to the licensing handbook and GSRP Implementation Manual.
Addresses concerns with parents and inform families of licensing rules/guidelines. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the building and school grounds. Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel and bend occasionally. Occasionally lift and carry materials or items weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to use senses – sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Ability to type; uses hand/eye coordination for typing and data entry. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Satisfactory criminal background check.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain clearance by Child Care Licensing and GSRP for Director position. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Maintains effective and appropriate communication with building staff, program staff, and program administration as needed and required.
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an effective team member.
Evidence of accurate record keeping and data collection skills.
