Overview
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the department's programs, assists in the planning and implementing of projects. Carries out the goals and objectives of the grant. Ensures grant compliance with all funding agency, and other federal, state, local and tribal regulations.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Education or business-related field; no substitutions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least one (1) year of experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of accounting software, database software, human resources systems, internet software, payroll systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Carries out activities to meet the goals and objectives of the grant. Develops, implements, and maintains guidelines and procedures for department operations. Establishes and formulates goals and objectives for the department. Develops and implements long/short terms for the department; primarily plans for services. Communications and reports department operational information and activities to appropriate administrative officials. Participates in the formulation of programs and special projects assigned. Assists in the preparation of budget needs and reporting for the education department. Complies, stores and retrieves program and/or grant data. Maintains records, files, and reports. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibility.
