Job Description: A leading veterinary organization is seeking a Regional Medical Director to oversee and support multiple hospitals in the Southern California region. This role is ideal for a veterinarian with strong leadership skills who is passionate about driving excellence in patient care, developing veterinary teams, and ensuring the highest medical standards across multiple locations.
The Regional Medical Director will work closely with the Regional Operations Director, veterinary teams, and hospital managers to enhance continuity, teamwork, and best practices. Responsibilities include setting development plans for doctors, conducting formal annual reviews, and providing ongoing support to ensure continuous growth in medical proficiency, surgical skills, client communication, medical charting, and service management.
Additional duties include recruiting and onboarding veterinarians, coaching paraprofessional staff to build highly efficient teams, and developing veterinary leaders and mentors within each hospital. Regular one-on-one meetings with DVMs will be conducted to review individual production, and participation in monthly hospital doctor meetings will ensure alignment with best practices and hospital workflows. The Regional Medical Director will also collaborate with doctor teams to make informed decisions on hospital medical inventory and client recommendations.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced veterinarian looking to take the next step in their career and make a meaningful impact on the future of veterinary medicine across multiple hospitals.
