Overview Job Summary: The Department of Pediatrics at the Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital is actively recruiting a dynamic and experienced general pediatrician with a strong interest in quality and safety to join our extensive pediatric primary care service. The successful candidate may practice in Wilkes-Barre, Pittston, or Mountain Top, PA. The position offers a blend of clinical practice (80%) and leadership in quality and safety (20%).
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care as part of our regional practices, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to family‑centered, equitable, safe, and best‑practice care for children.
Lead outpatient pediatric quality and safety initiatives, including developing strategies to enhance patient safety culture and ensuring adherence to best practices. Access multiple databases to track success and identify opportunities.
Engage in ongoing personal education in quality and safety, with opportunities to educate peers and learners.
Report directly to the Vice Chair of Pediatrics, General Pediatrics.
Qualifications
Board‑certified General Pediatrics.
At least 5 years of general pediatrics experience with strong inter‑test in pediatric outpatient quality and safety initiatives.
Additional leadership or quality and safety experience strongly desired.

Position Details Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine – (Required)
Experience: Certified Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania
