We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director to lead our dietary department. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a passion for quality nutrition, and the ability to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards while fostering a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, monitor, and evaluate master menus to ensure nutritional appropriateness for therapeutic diets.
Create and maintain internal policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Supervise, train, and evaluate dietary staff, including scheduling and performance reviews.
Oversee the Department of Nutrition’s Quality Improvement Program.
Collaborate with administrative, medical, and nursing teams regarding residents’ nutritional needs.
Participate in food preparation, storage, and sanitation oversight.
Maintain proper sanitation of kitchens, serving areas, dining rooms, and storage areas.
Manage inventory, requisitions, and vendor deliveries to ensure quality and quantity standards are met.
Prepare daily reports and participate in meetings as assigned.
Assist in interviewing and hiring dietary staff.
Conduct monthly or as-needed in-service training for dietary employees.
Complete special projects assigned by the Administrator.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a 90-hour course in food, nutrition, and personnel management in food service or equivalent.
Two or more years of supervisory experience in a nursing facility (required).
Must hold one of the following:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
Certified Food Service Manager
Similar national certification in Food Service Management and safety
Associate’s or higher degree in food service management, hospitality, or restaurant management from an accredited institution
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Must be present in the facility to perform job duties.
