We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director (FSD) to lead the dietary department at our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare food service management and a passion for ensuring residents receive nutritious, well-prepared meals in a safe and sanitary environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the dietary department, including food preparation, service, and sanitation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOH and CMS standards
Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost control
Hire, train, and supervise dietary staff, ensuring proper scheduling and performance standards
Collaborate with nursing staff and dietitians to meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen and dining area
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Food Service Director or Dietary Manager in a long-term care or healthcare setting
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements for geriatric populations
ServSafe certification required (or must be willing to obtain)
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred
